Product Description

AHCC is cultured shiitake mycelium. It is not the fruiting-body powder, and it is not a beta-glucan ingredient. The numbers that belong on this lot are AHCC and alpha-glucans.

Capsules are the usual home, and only where the brand may use the name. A generic Lentinula edodes mycelium extract does not become AHCC by matching a polysaccharide range. Confirm the alpha-glucan assay, the trademark paperwork and the part.

Applications

AHCC Capsules

AHCC Capsules

Capsules deliver cultured shiitake mycelium sold as AHCC, with alpha-glucans as the marker, where the name may be used.

Tablets

Tablets

Tablets can carry the same mycelial powder when compression keeps the alpha-glucan dose intact.

Not a Beta-Glucan Brief

Not a Beta-Glucan Brief

Alpha-glucans from cultured mycelium are the dose. A fruiting-body beta-glucan powder is a different shiitake ingredient.

Stick Packs

Stick Packs

Stick packs take a brown mycelial powder. The drink will not be a clear, neutral fibre.

FAQ

Is AHCC the same as shiitake fruiting-body extract?
No. AHCC is a mycelial culture extract standardized around alpha-glucans.
Can we print beta-glucan on this lot?
Not from the alpha-glucan assay. They are different molecules and different tests.
What assays are on this specification?
About 50% AHCC, 30% or 50% alpha-glucans, and a lower polysaccharide line. Buy the line the label uses.
Who can use the AHCC name?
Only where the trademark permission covers your finished product. A lookalike mycelium extract is a different ingredient.
