Product Description

The thick white stem is the part people recognise. Pleurotus eryngii is grown that way, and the extract can be taken from that fruiting body or from mycelium. Those two powders do not substitute for each other.

Polysaccharides and beta-glucan are the lines this extract is actually sold on. Ergothioneine is a reason the species gets attention, but it is not this powder: the 99% isolate is a different code. A UV polysaccharide total also will not stand in for an enzymatic beta-glucan result.

FAQ

Is king oyster the same species as oyster mushroom?
No. King oyster is Pleurotus eryngii. Oyster is Pleurotus ostreatus.
Does this powder contain 99% ergothioneine?
No. That isolate is a different code. This extract is sold on polysaccharides and beta-glucan.
Which part should the purchase order name?
Fruiting body or mycelium. If the supplier can ship either, the order has to pick one.
What assay method should we ask for?
State polysaccharides and beta-glucan separately, and name the method for the beta-glucan line.
