Polyphenol Capsules
State punicalagin, ellagic acid, or total polyphenols before you cost the fill.

Pomegranate peel extract is sold against three different markers: punicalagin (about 10–40%), ellagic acid (about 40% or 98%), and total pomegranate polyphenols (about 40–60%).
Punicalagin is the large peel tannin. Ellagic acid is a smaller polyphenol that also appears in other fruits. A “40%” on the label is meaningless until the marker is named.
When buying, pick one marker. Peel is the part; the seed oil is a different ingredient.

Tannin grades are astringent and can haze. Ellagic grades behave differently.

Colour is an issue in a white base. Match the marker to the INCI story.

Punicalagin, ellagic acid and total polyphenols are three capsule fills, not one.

Pomegranate seed oil is a fatty oil. This powder is a peel extract.

A juice powder is not a peel tannin grade and will miss punicalagin and ellagic specs.
