Sweetening Systems
A high-assay sweetener ingredient. Dose in milligrams, not like sugar.

This licorice root grade is glycyrrhizic acid at about 98%, from Glycyrrhiza. It is the sweet saponin, not the skin-whitening flavonoid glabridin.
It sweetens and is used in confectionery, beverages and some medicinal-style extracts. It also raises blood pressure concerns at high intake, so a food use and a high-dose capsule are different briefs.
When buying, say 98% glycyrrhizic acid by HPLC, and keep the PO away from the glabridin code.

A high-assay sweetener ingredient. Dose in milligrams, not like sugar.

Very sweet and slightly lingering. Trial the aftertaste.

Skin-lightening briefs want glabridin (the other licorice code), not this saponin.

Glycyrrhizic acid is sweet, and high intakes are restricted because of potassium and blood pressure.

98% is an isolate. A licorice tea cut will not meet it.
